Mitt Romney wants running mate with vision

"I certainly expect to have a person that has a strength of character, a vision for the country that adds something to the political discourse about the direction of the country," he told NBC's Chuck Todd in an interview yesterday.

As we all know, Romney is close to making an announcement about his choice for a vice president.

The Wall Street Journal weighed in yesterday and urged the Republican candidate to pick House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin. A new CNN/ORC poll says the top favorite of Republicans is Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida.

The decision, of course, is up to Romney. "I'm ready for it to be made, you know? I am," Ohio Sen. Rob Portman told CNN.
