GOP Congress plans to test Obama vetoes

U.S. Sen. Dan Coats was talking about a committee he is on, but he might as well have been offering a preview of the next session of Congress.

“We will have the majority, and we are going to make some substantive changes to become even more engaged,” the Indiana Republican said in an interview about the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Republicans next year will control both houses of Congress for the first time since 2006. This bicameral majority is certain to end four years of stalemates between a GOP-ruled House and a Democratic-run Senate.
