Indiana comes through for special-needs children

On behalf of the 87 member agencies of the Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy (IARCA) and the children they serve, we want to thank Gov. Mike Pence and DCS Director Mary Beth Bonaventura for locating funds for the state adoption subsidy for fiscal year 2015. Child welfare research clearly documents that the availability of an adoption subsidy saves state dollars. Most importantly, it encourages the participation of more families in the adoptive process and preserves and sustains the adoption of special-needs children.
