INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 28, 2014) Many of Indiana’s Republican women volunteers received a loud and clear message today from Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chair Sharon Day – “get fired up!”

Indiana Republican Party Chairman Tim Berry invited Day to visit State Party headquarters in Indianapolis and participate in a women’s meet and greet. Indiana’s statewide candidates including Secretary of State Connie Lawson, Auditor of State Suzanne Crouch and Treasurer of State candidate Kelly Mitchell helped rally volunteers and ask for their continued commitment as the November election approaches.

“Indiana Republicans are doing a tremendous job of encouraging women to participate in the political process,” Day said. “With an impressive slate of women candidates this year and a strong network of grassroots volunteers and activists across the state, I’m confident Indiana Republicans are poised for success in 2014 and beyond. ”

Day discussed her nationwide "14 in '14" initiative which asks Party members to commit to volunteering 30 minutes a week during the 14 weeks leading up to the election.

“Indiana’s Republican women candidates and volunteers are a powerful force that continues to help propel our Party and our state forward,” Berry said. “Our statewide team on the ballot this November has the momentum needed to capture victory, and a big part of their success so far stems from a strong and motivated grassroots network. Today’s event, with the help of RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day, lit a fire among our hard-working volunteers who are excited to share the Republican message in their communities.”

As a part of the Republican State Leadership Committee's "Right Women, Right Now" (RWRN) initiative 14 races nationwide were named to its “Races to Watch List." So far, three races from Indiana have made the list including Julie Olthoff for Indiana House District 19, Erin Houchin for Indiana Senate District 47 and Liz Brown for Indiana Senate District 15.
