Stutzman, Walorski back RV industry with bill

Reps. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd, and Jackie Walorski, R-2nd, announced Thursday they have introduced legislation aimed at preventing recreational vehicles from being regulated as manufactured housing.

The RV industry, which is concentrated in Elkhart County, fears it could face more restrictive taxing, zoning and consumer lending rules if certain vehicles are considered manufactured housing and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
