INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 19, 2023) − Last night, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass a one-sentence resolution that states Israel “is not a racist or apartheid state,” rejects "all forms of antisemitism and xenophobia,” and declares that the U.S. “will always be a staunch partner and supporter of Israel.”
The final vote on the resolution was 412-9-1, with all “no” votes coming from members of the Democrat’s far-left caucus, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Cori Bush (Mo.) … and André Carson (Ind.).
Today, many of the same members who voted against the resolution are boycotting the president of Israel’s joint address to Congress. Will Rep. Carson join them?
“We are calling on the Indiana Democrat Party to denounce Rep. André Carson’s anti-Israel vote, and for Rep. Carson to explain exactly which part of the resolution he disagreed with,” stated Luke Thomas, press secretary for the Indiana Republican Party. “Does he believe that Israel is a racist and apartheid state? Does he not reject all forms of antisemitism and xenophobia? Does he not want the U.S. to be a staunch partner and supporter of the homeland of the Jewish people?”
“We hope the Indiana Democrat Party will join us in expressing support for Israel and rejecting antisemitism and xenophobia,” he added.
